BIPV case sharing | Green Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, Mingyang photovoltaic glass helps create a "moonlight box" that lights up the city
A "Moonlight Box" quietly appeared on the bank of the Pearl River and next to the Liede Bridge. From then on, on the new central axis of Guangzhou, the core city of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, "Slender Waist", "Shell" and "Moonlight Box" gathered together. Guangzhou Tower and Liede Bridge welcomed this "new friend" - Guangzhou Substation Science Popularization Center·110 kV Lieqiao Substation.
The construction sector is one of the three major areas of energy consumption and carbon emissions in my country, with huge potential for carbon reduction and market development. Using green building materials, promoting green and low-carbon buildings, and promoting the rapid transformation of the construction industry towards a low-carbon and green direction are important ways for the construction industry to contribute to the "dual carbon" goals.
As one of the first "Community Affairs, Master-Made" projects in Guangzhou, it adopted a variety of advanced environmental protection technologies such as sponge city technology, optical fiber non-electric lighting technology, and power generation glass technology in its planning and construction. The concept of sustainable development runs through the entire process of substation design, construction, and operation, making it the first substation in the country to obtain both international and domestic green building certifications.
The Mingyang photovoltaic glass used on the rooftop of the Guangzhou Substation Science Center and 110 kV Lieqiao Substation adopts customized sizes and has an annual power generation capacity of approximately 20,000 kWh. While maintaining a high degree of harmony and unity with the building's appearance, it meets the needs of power generation, aesthetics, lighting, and rain protection, providing a rest and entertainment venue for citizens who come to the rooftop for sightseeing and rest, and has a strong demonstration significance for building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) technology.
As a new type of photovoltaic building material, cadmium telluride thin-film photovoltaic glass is less affected by weather and installation location due to its many advantages such as good low-light performance, low temperature coefficient, low attenuation rate, small shading loss, and small inclination angle dependence. In addition, it has the advantages of customization in color, pattern, and light transmittance, and is widely used in building facades, skylights, sun rooms, etc.
As a R&D and manufacturing manufacturer of green photovoltaic building materials, Mingyang Thin Film Technology is committed to the R&D, production and sales of thin-film solar cells and providing overall solutions for solar power generation systems. As a local enterprise in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao region, under the national policy of "carbon peak and carbon neutrality", it provides cadmium telluride thin-film photovoltaic glass for multiple projects to help the Greater Bay Area achieve "carbon peak and carbon neutrality".
