Mingyang Photovoltaic Glass helps Shenzhen build its first batch of photovoltaic building integration pilot projects in 2024

On July 15, Shenzhen Municipal Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau announced the list of Shenzhen's 2024 (first batch) photovoltaic building integrated (BIPV) and "light storage direct flexible" building pilot projects. After evaluation, five projects including the "Comprehensive Development Research Institute Distributed Photovoltaic Building Integrated Project" were identified as Shenzhen's 2024 (first batch) photovoltaic building integrated (BIPV) pilot projects and "light storage direct flexible" building pilot projects. Among them, the Shenzhen Shenshan Special Cooperation Zone Ruihe Industrial Park Photovoltaic Power Generation Demonstration Base Project is provided by Mingyang Thin Film Technology with cadmium telluride thin-film photovoltaic power generation components.

The Shenzhen Ruihe Industrial Park Photovoltaic Power Generation Demonstration Base Project is located in the Shenshan Cooperation Zone, Shanwei City, Guangdong Province. As Shenzhen's 2024 (first batch) photovoltaic building integrated (BIPV) pilot project, it has an installed capacity of 1288.16kWp. It will be completed and put into operation in August 2022. It will supply an average of nearly 1.1 million kWh of green electricity to Ruihe Industrial Park each year. During its entire life cycle, this project will reduce carbon emissions by 16,000 tons, equivalent to planting 800,000 trees.

The project uses Mingyang electro-optical glass in demonstration applications such as building roofs, curtain walls, sun rooms, and soundproof screens, which not only significantly improves the aesthetic value and functionality of the building, but also demonstrates the perfect integration of green energy saving and intelligent technology.

Unique charm, bright sunlight electroluminescent glass on the building facade

In the design of the photovoltaic power generation demonstration base project in Ruihe Industrial Park, Mingyang photovoltaic glass was first cleverly integrated into the south facade of the dormitory building. Looking around, rows of neat and unique cadmium telluride power generation glass were installed on the railing facade of each floor, using its photovoltaic characteristics to convert solar energy into electrical energy, providing green energy for the building and reducing the building's energy consumption costs.

Cadmium telluride has obvious advantages in building distributed rooftop power stations

The roof of this project also has cadmium telluride photovoltaic glass, which makes full use of the roof space, considers building energy conservation, and realizes the concept of green environmental protection, energy conservation and emission reduction.

Cadmium telluride photovoltaic glass has a unique weak light advantage, and maintains a certain power generation capacity under insufficient light conditions such as cloudy, rainy or haze weather. At the same time, compared with other photovoltaic materials, cadmium telluride photovoltaic glass is not prone to hot spot effect and has better stability and durability.

Advantages of light transmission, cadmium telluride is the first choice for photovoltaic sunrooms

When choosing photovoltaic power generation modules for sunrooms, power generation is an important consideration. Optical-free cadmium telluride photovoltaic modules may have higher power generation efficiency, but will sacrifice some lighting effects. Based on power generation considerations, the pilot sunroom in the photovoltaic power generation demonstration base project of Ruihe Industrial Park uses 12 pieces of optical-free cadmium telluride photovoltaic modules.

But generally speaking, the lighting requirements of the sun room are also an important factor to consider when choosing photovoltaic modules. Modules with a certain light transmittance can achieve a certain amount of power generation while ensuring a certain lighting effect. In practical applications, sun rooms usually choose cadmium telluride photovoltaic power generation modules with a light transmittance of 20% or 40% to meet the overall lighting requirements.

Innovative attempt, cadmium telluride noise barrier

In addition, the project demonstrated the application of cadmium telluride photovoltaic glass in the field of sound barriers, creating a quiet environment for surrounding residents and the interior space of the building. At the same time, its power generation function also provided a sustainable power source for the maintenance and operation of the sound barrier.

The Ruihe Industrial Park Photovoltaic Power Generation Demonstration Base Project is a comprehensive project covering a variety of photovoltaic technology applications. It aims to achieve energy conservation, emission reduction and green energy utilization through photovoltaic power generation, and has a strong demonstration significance. Mingyang Photovoltaic Glass, with its excellent photovoltaic technology and products, has added a bright touch to the successful implementation of the project. As an advocate and practitioner of photovoltaic green buildings, Mingyang Photovoltaic Glass will continue to leverage its advantages in photovoltaic technology and contribute to more green energy projects.
