Zhang Chuanwei was invited to attend the conference celebrating the 100th anniversary of Sun Yat-sen's founding of Sun Yat-sen University


On November 12, a grand meeting was held to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Sun Yat-sen's founding of Sun Yat-sen University. Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, President of the People's Republic of China, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, sent a congratulatory letter. Huang Kunming, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee, attended the meeting to read the congratulatory letter and delivered an important speech. Zhang Chuanwei, Honorary Director of Sun Yat-sen University, Vice President of the Global Alumni Association, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Mingyang Group, was invited to attend the celebration meeting and held a discussion with Zhu Kongjun, Secretary of the Party Committee of Sun Yat-sen University.
                                                  

Zhang Chuanwei said in the forum that he has always cared about his alma mater and Sun Yat-sen University, especially on the occasion of the centenary of his alma mater. The establishment of Sun Yat-sen University Mingyang Innovation and Talent Fund is not only a token of his appreciation for his alma mater's centenary celebration, but also a hope to incubate the future and nurture new life with his alma mater in the new century. He said that he hopes to comprehensively focus on the entrepreneurial platform to the innovation system, from innovative talents to innovative projects, to strive for strength in the sea and to make new efforts, to focus on clean energy, advanced manufacturing, marine economy and business management, to deepen cooperation strategically, to open up a new model of school-enterprise cooperation in production, learning and research, and to contribute to the construction of a new system of modern green digital economy in China.



Zhu Kongjun thanked Zhang Chuanwei for his long-term care and support for his alma mater. He introduced the development and reform, discipline construction, talent introduction, school-enterprise cooperation, and service to the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area of Sun Yat-sen University. Zhu Kongjun said that the century-old Sun Yat-sen University is aiming at the strategic goal of building a strong country through education and accelerating the construction of a world-class university with Chinese characteristics. The two sides should closely strengthen the strategic cooperation between industry, academia and research, especially with the help of the Southern Marine Laboratory platform, adhering to the basic positioning of "based in the Bay Area, deeply cultivating the South China Sea, and looking at the world", breaking through high-precision scientific research and technology, promoting multidisciplinary cross-integration, further improving the construction of mechanisms and systems, and strengthening the strong cooperation with Mingyang's advantageous forces to better serve enterprises and economic development.
